What is the PTSA Sister School Program?

What is the PTSA Sister School Program?

The sister school philanthropic program benefits the students of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District by fostering civic responsibility, enhancing community engagement, promoting volunteerism, and by teaching the joy of helping others in need. At Cal High the PTSA collaborates with the student's leadership group, ASB, to support our sister school, Michelle Obama Elementary School, in Richmond.

The PTSA sister school chair has the role of ambassadorship, discovering the needs of the sister school, determining material needs, and tracking success and challenges throughout the year. For Questions you can reach out to: Lori Fairbanks calhighsisterschool@gmail.com
Winter Toy Drive

Winter Toy Drive

The annual Winter toy drive is the largest drive for our sister school to bring holiday presents to all the students of Michelle Obama Elementary School (MOES). During weeks in November and December, the Cal High Leardship students provide large bins in the front office, to collect unwrapped toys suitable for elementary school children. Simultaneously, the Cal High PTSA sister school chair coordinates with the Live Oak Elementary School sister school chair to collect additional toys. At the end of the drive, the Cal High PTSA supplements and sponsors any toys that are missing, in order to provide every student at MOES with a holiday gift. The toys are delivered by the whole team to the sister school as a result of the cumulative efforts and collaboration.

Look for additional information in the Bear Facts (parent newsletter) and the Bear Necessities (student newsletter).
