COMMUNICATIONS FROM YOUR ED FUND PRESIDENT

Dear Cal High Families,

The purpose of the California High School Education Fund/Academic Boosters is to raise money to enhance learning at California High School. Our fundraising activities are managed by Cal High Parents and we support all students, at all grade levels, and at all levels of academic performance.

Donating to the CHS Academic Boosters can help provide some budget certainty for the school who depend on us for additional teacher positions to help expand classes with high demand and offer specialty classes that might otherwise have low enrollment.

The requested donation amount for 2024-25 is $450 per Cal High student.

Your contribution also directly supports many other programs at Cal High including, but not limited to:
  • Student Teams and Clubs, like our award-winning Mock Trial team
  • Scholarships for Cal High graduating Seniors
  • Student Academic Awards (Certificates, Letters, Pins, Graduation Cords)
We also benefit greatly from Employer Matching Funds! Please fill out the Employee Matching information on the attached form or email us at california.edfundcorpmatch@srvef.org after donating online to give us your employer’s information. We have a dedicated Board Member to help submit matching funds requests so please fill in the information to help us maximize your donation

Thank you so much for supporting excellence in education at Cal High.

Sincerely,
Anne-Marie Vanniasinkam
President, CHS Academic Boosters (2024 - 2025)
COLLEGE ESSAY WRITING WORKSHOP

COLLEGE ESSAY WRITING WORKSHOP

Thank you to all who attended the College Essay Writing Workshop on September 30th.  Special thanks also to Ms. Christina Haaverson who lead this workshop.  As stated before, we did not record the workshop but Ms. Haaverson was kind enough to offer to share a few of her slides. We plan to hold essay workshops in the Spring, so junior, sophomore, and freshman students will have another chance to take advantage of a workshop then.

Please email california.edfund@srvef.org with any questions.
